About A second perspective of this scene.
This is the way it looked with blue sky behind my back reflected in Les Halles structures. I have done only a slight perspective adjustment and levels correction to match original slide. The color has not been manipulated.

First thank you Patricia for your levels adjustment of the entire image of my sunset. I find your 'retouche' very well done and beautiful.

IMHO, the beautiful variations of subtle blue colors do a lot to the 'excellence' of this shot.

very cool!!! love the icy blue and the contrast between the tree and the steel and glass!!! i'm not sure what was lower in the frame but i would have loved the shot to be a little wider and lower..

you did so naturally what others try to do with toning their images...an excellent structure well captured...

Vos images me touchent.

Patricia; I liked this one before, and I like this one just as much. When I 1st saw the thumnail, I thought "blue toning"-- and I don't usually like blue toning, but the color cast works well here with what I would consider kind of a cool, sterile, futuristic scene. That tree is really important to this composition, IMO as it adds naturalness and warmth to an otherwise concrete and steel scene.

sometimes - it is about the light and that is all it needs to be about - that is something, I can understand...

Hi Patricia:

How well I remember those old structures! Especially, Pied du Couchon, which was, in those days ('69), one of the very few restaurants in Paris open past midnight. When the tear-gas got too strong at the Sorbonne, we'd hike across the bridge and past Hotel de Ville to the ramshakle warehouses of Les Halles for a baguette and bowl of hot fish soup.

Patricia, I always like stormy skies, this is wonderful, it has a very stark quality with the modern architecture and the bluish colours and light are perfect for it, very nicely done - Richard.

Notevole geometria, bel cielo.

Very well composed! The color tones are wonderful. I like the character in the branches of the trees. I'm a sucker for a cool tree. :-)

Peta - thanks for your comments. This was taken in the Parc Les Halles in Paris - a large structure of gardens, malls, and modern structures that replaced the old central markets a couple of decades ago. Actually, this image was not toned. It is a color image that is very true to the color present at the time --there was a dark storm sky ahead despite blue sky from behind that was reflected in the windows, light gray surfaces, and metallic surfaces of surrounding buildings. I have been there a number of times and have only seen this very special light once (I'm sure Parisians are more familiar than eye with the variations in this scene). Anyway, I was entranced.

The blue toning is lovely Patricia. Beautifully composed. What is this place? I feel rather duh. :)

Thank you too for the very encouraging comments you have given my work, can't tell you how much I appreciate it!

Very Nice Patricia. Love the different shades of blue.
One tree among all the glass, steel & concrete. Well done.
