The play of the 'shadows' across the cosmos is very effective, giving a stained glass effect. It creates a subtle mood, secretive, suggestive of far more than the softness and beauty of the flower.... a mystery, presenting intrigue in the details..... the dark aureola surrounding the stamens, the flutes in each petal, the translucency in the petals, layers both exhibiting and hiding connections..... very beautiful work ...and much more than a pretty flower.

The photographer has not only a good eye, and plenty of talent, but technical expertise as well.

Unlike the other comment, I am not bothered by the bottom petal being cut off....I am emotionally assured by it. For me, it anchors the image, bringing the whole together, adding a tangible touch to an otherwise etheral floating image. It lets me know the flower is real, not a ghost or mirage. Again, very beautiful.... and MUCH more than a pretty flower.

Oh this is beautiful!!! Very good concept! Just a pity that the petal at the bottom is cut; watching it I'd like to play with different positions of the blossom on that beautiful background, which is most effective!! Anyway, it's just beautiful as it is, and it has a very lovely and dreamlike expression *** To me it's one of the most beautiful b&w flowers I've seen. Regards :)
