Great shot, but a little tip, trty this again with the flash set to 2nd curtain sync. that way the blur will be in the correct direction with the balls frozen by the flash at the end of the exposure... its a bot more tricky to get right, but well worth the effort. On shots like this you can also boost the contrast a bit with curves or levels afterwards.
Regards, Nathan

hey owen this is cool! good catch and i know cause i tried catching that very moment a few times over the weekend while photographing a tournament this weekend. i'll tell ya... you're brave cause i wouldn't want to be in that postition on a break especially with the way they break. all i kept thinkin was, if yer gonna jump a ball, don't hit my camera, and don't knock out my teeth. (in that order).
trippy with the red table! congrats on this one.. hope there's more..

Too cool! The lighting is a bit hot on the billiard balls in the front. A "soft box" for your flash would help reduce the harshness of your flash in such settings. I borrowed a friends once and it worked like a charm. Great motion blur!
