And I've missed so many..... Browsed to your portfolio and selected this on the thumbnail. Very intriguing. Odd crop? I don't think so, bloody spectacular, and the off centered composition only adds to the dynamism.... I think this one could do with a smaller aperture, say f8 or f11, it would've helped getting *everything* into perfect focus, with still a fast enough shuttertime to "freeze" the moment. I had no idea this series was so huge! Very impressive.
Cheers,
Hugo

hey guys thanks for the positive feedback, yeah sean i thought of that but i havent tried it yet, whats holding me back is that fact that 95% of these waves are closeouts and im continually about to get smacked in the head when i shoot up close in the water. ill definately give it a go though.

not a bad crop at all but i see the autofocus caught you this time around. next time, turn the autofocus off and set the focus ring on the lens to just below infinity. make sure you're within a few feet of the surfer when you take the shot and they'll always be in focus.

Nothing odd about that crop,it works a treat. The softness suggests you may have cropped quite deep but resulting composition and the capture of the moment make up for that. Nice job, Sam.

Great image. Love the movement and the waterdrops. I like the cropping, makes it very different.
