I think this is what they talk about when they say "kill your darlings". Not that I am so fond of this particular photo, but I'm a sucker flames and especially long exposures... I pretty much agree with you - maybe this will find some use in a future montage.

This is almost there... but there just doesn't seem to be enough to hold me in this image. Perhaps a tighter composition of abstract fire? Not that it gives more of a focus, though....
I'm a mess with this one... I love the idea but something doesn't quite work for me... but I can't even offer more advice on how to change.
Here's a crop I tried... is it better? Probably not. But hey, I worked on it for all of 30 seconds, so take a look. hahahahhaha
