ohhhhh.... i see what you mean dear Stefan... very well executed and the end result is simply wonderful... love the texture and the impact it has on the emotional aspect of the photo... rich tones and details to stare at!!!! yes, that kind of work i trully admire a lot and that is an excellent piece!!!!! congrats... emy :)

Dirck - thank you for your detailed observations. The white areas on the left is a creek thrown way out of focus by shooting wide open, more than I had intended... To me they are another facet of the suggestions the title has to offer.

Really interesing composite, Stefan! The strength and heaviness of the texture give this a very distinct mood in my opinion - stressed, maybe. The lines from the bark (?) project different emotions into her face - the furrowed brow and the streak under her eye make her look troubled and sad to me. Not that any of that is bad, mind you, just that it's amazing how strong the impressions can be from the added texture... Very intriguing experiment, and well executed - the only thing I find a little distracting is the bright area at left.

can't decide if the layers make her look consumed or broken...but I do know that I like the left hand side and how it fades out...not only the edge but the cloudiness on that side of the frame...
