About //Dionysus garlands -In ecstasy//

His breath,
the wolves
in the woods.
Round the trees,
garlands.
Made of lust
his presence hurts.
The wind fierce.
She cries?
Under the sky
stark naked bliss
like maroon kiss.
The garlands?

Be sure nobody will know dear Paula(laughs!!)...
Well, I could tell something about this technique I use. Taking a shot of an object that moves against the photographer (make sure it is not a van) can break the image in pieces and create a non-Photoshop effect. Moving the camera the way the shot becomes more interesting is also a nice effect, also forming circles with the camera. All these on condition that the shutter is 8,4,2,1 or B (slow). Each shutter speed creates a different effect. B+ tripod, 4:creates angles, 2 creates chaos (I am a bit confused with the site's indication of shutter, I do not use any modern stuff nor a digital camera but anyway, the blue dancers are shutter 4, while the red ones shutter 2). The aperture must always be wide open. Best topics for this type of experimentation is dance. I have been to your country and I was impressed about the many photo galleries and the love that Hungarian people show for art. I also saw very experimental photo exhibitions that also influenced me considerably at this early age I was wandering in Budapest. I also loved your museums.
Bye!! Keep the good work!

Well, I'm glad we've settled this. :-) I could tell from your reaction that you had been accused of "cheating", and had become very defensive. I simply love such photos, and encourage any kind of experiments in any artistic field. I'm glad you like my purple shots. This is a secret, but it's actually me in those photos. But don't tell anyone! :-)

No, I do not think you accused me dear, it is just that I have heard this comment about post production and how impossible it is to do it with the camera so MANY times that I became a little bit defensive! It is until someone sees the prints!!

Greetings from Greece

PS Once more I tell you I fell in love with the two purple photos you shot with the girl, they are among the ten best photos I have seen here. People like you increase our self standards!!!

I can't believe how you took everything I said totally the wrong way...

What makes you think I was scolding you, or accusing you of anything of the sort? I didn't say, or even suggest that. I merely said that I didn't know how much of that was PS. You must admit that these days, when most people enhance images in PS, one just can't know. I didn't say it was fake either. I think you should re-read my comment, and understand it for what it really is.

Dear Paula, this image is not post production, I shot the photo this way and I have lots of images of this type, I call this "my personal style" and I do not care if you find it funny or fake because it is not. I have exhibited many photos like this and I have no reason to lie. No photos from the ones I send here are photoshop images. If I send any photoshop images I will place them in Photoart.
You know what the real funny thing is? That my photography teachers used to scold me for experimenting with my shutter and movements of my camera and some other people like you , thank Gods only a couple, accuse the photos as fake ones. Contradiction...
Anyway, I need to share these images with certain people, I do not sell anything, anyway, therefore there is no need to prove that the photos are not fake.
As for projections of the mind now , I have a large archive with street photos and the cruelest reality and misery but I prefer to share my favourite dreams ...

Dear Mary, that's quite funny. You seem to have unconsciously created an image that evokes those pictures. I am a great fan of experimental photography, but am also trying to avoid post-production. I don't know how much of your photo is PS, but I do like the effect regardless of how you achieved it.

Dear Paula,
the Brotherhood of Pre-Raphaelites has been my main inspiration. I have studied them elaborately and write about them for years. Nevertheless, I have not connected this photo with them, as precise depiction was their basic characteristic trying to exceed Raphael in colors and detail. But the feeling... yes this is the feeling of my beloved Edward Coley Burne-Jones and Waterhouse, a reflection in me...a remembrance of Romantic writers... I am glad you like this photo, it is my favourite one. I started to think that experimental photography has not many friends. Thnk you for your good words.

That is excellent! Looks like a Pre-Raphaelite painting combined with a scene from a Petere Greenaway film... Well done!
