Great Panoramic. I like the panoramic image upload as well. It is nice to see these types of shots in a little more detail

Nice rich colours. Sadly the small size causes loss of detail, leaving the entire image look cluttered.

I wish there was a way to view pan shots bigger..that's why I don't post many..it doesn't do it justice. that and hard to find someone who'll print them bigger without a huge cost

Al & Bea, can you image this picture with a larger size? i.e. 1024x326 pixels ? With this size is still less "heavy" than an 800x800 ;)
The risk is that the people could have the tentation to enter in the screen and feel to be there

Al I see that I've missed your last 3 posts. I was attracted by the title of this and thought you'd been to our San Juan, oh well darn...:):). This is a lovely panorama. The colors are gorgeous and you have a nice diagonal composition as well as a very good maximal dof...very well done...:):)Linda

What a breathtaking view! Love the mix of colours in the foreground & the hazy mountains towards the back.
Lovely panoramic... though I think I would have cut the building from the left of frame... or included it all... would be interesting to know what that building is... it's a perfect place to view this amazing countryside.

Mmmmmm. Lovely panorama--and a great camera for it! Don't you just wish that you could trade off vertical pixels for a few more horizontal pixels? Even so, this is a gorgeous image. Trust Velvia for rich, vivid colours...

I love 6x17 landscape. It's an "unusual vision" but it capture me any time! Could be a nice idea for next projects! Linhof will be very happy ;-)

That is quite a vista! I am also trying to work with panorama by piecing together several digital pictures. So far, I have only done it with the moon, but it was a success!

I really like the panoramic view on this shot Altaf. Did you use a tripod for the 1/15th shutter speed? It is really clear for such slow shutter if it was handheld...

The aspect ratio (over 3:1) really lends itself to showing the sweep and grandeur of the San Juans. I wouldn't call a Linhof image a "snapshot" but maybe that is your pocket camera! I like the layers of color and the depiction of distance through the greying of the distant background. The colors are nice and saturated. How was the transparency digitized?

This indeed impressive, firstly for the sheer size... I have looked that the Hassel XPan a number of times... but this Linhof with its 120 clearly is something! Well done... impressed!
And appreciate the work that you do for this site!

Actually it is a 6x17 medium format camera, I rented it for a trip. It is standard 120 and 220 film, it just uses up more film per shot.
I have a bunch more I will upload in a little bit. Scanning these things is a real pain since cheapo scanner will not do 6x17, you have to scan in pieces and paste the thing back together again making it a real pain.

800 x 255 dpi ... Almost 4:1 or 1:4 which ever is correct to say. So you have really increased the ratio for us and it is much appreciated.
I know your just probably testing as you say, but it is a nice panoramic indeed with a great sky, (one third), and nice greenery, (two thirds). Perhaps a plain and simple image to some and that's why it's so basically descent.
You say it was a snapshot but NOT hardly with a large format camera that probably should be corrected to 6 x 7 instead of 6 x 17 and must have been expensive to print also especially that I didn't know Fuji even made Slide Film that big.
Very well done, thanks for sharing, and Best of Regards!
P.S. No rating because I just wanted to comment on your work for once after everything you have done for the Site ... Okay?

the panoramic image upload, I just tried one time a composition (which was not perfect) of five shots, too wide for right placing; here as I can assume this must be equivalent of two shots for digital even you used a dedicated camera and this format is right, nice landscape too; wild scenery
