Mr. Zang, I understand the logic behind preferring people use their real names; I understand that you would like to keep this site looking as professional as possible unlike a yahoo message board for example. The only issues I have with it are, I would like to maintain a level of anonymity, I?m known here as Blueskies, or mike to people on my friends list. I?m really not concerned with the fact that I?m one of the few who chose to use a nickname instead of the name on my license. I don?t remember reading anything about using your real name when I became a member of this site. Since I?m nowhere close to developing my own style of photography or digital art, I guess it?s not really that much of an issue for me to change my title here. I apologize for my last comment to you, it sounded impolite. Seeing as your profile didn?t state that you were actually a moderator, I assumed it was just some smart aleck messing with me. I?m not going to use my ?actual? last name, but I will change the blueskies if that appears to be unprofessional in your opinion. I appreciate your critique in regards to my name, and would welcome your critiques and comment on my images. ~Mike
Yes, I'm a moderator, and the one who deleted your imitation magazine cover. (mainly because of Trademark reasons) Since I don't know your real name, I can't say for sure if I went to high school with you, but I seriously doubt it. {:-)
Usefilm.com is a photography learning site, and we prefer the use of real names. If you look around, you may notice that you were about the only one using a ficticious name. If you really do support the site and what it stands for, you will surely understand the logic behind this.
Dan, this is at Mackinac Michigan. The Lower Peninsula, I rode up there to a campground off the lake and spent a few day?s there. That?s the Mackinac Bridge in the background; its 5 miles long over water, 7 miles total. It?s not really the type of bike people normally use to travel long distance, but hey, I got there faster LOL. this picture tells a little bit more of the story, all I had was my bike, backpack, credit card and of course, my camera. if I ever make another trip like that, I?m just going to mail my dirty clothes back home to make room for souvenirs in my pack. That?s for the complements. ~ Mike
ok, how about Rupert, that's real isn't it? Could I just donate again just to keep the name I picked in the first place? Are you even a moderator? What is your affiliation with this website? Seems to me if you had any real authority you could have just sent me some sort of official looking email instead of posting your request on the comments section. But, I?ll change it anyway, I like the name Rupert. Your name sounds familiar, did I go to high school with you?
Mike, glad to see that you've posted some new stuff! All of its good and I like the PS work - you're really great at manipulating PS (I'm envious!). Where in upper Michigan did you go? Is that Canada in the background or are you on the Canadian side of things? Anyway, looks like the drive was great fun! Take care, Dan
