Very dynamic composition, and excellent use of texture and lighting, Uwe! Very impressive shot. I like these shots of objects that we would normally pass without noticing. Very inspiring work.

Cheers,

Hugo

This is a really strong and fantastic composition! I also love the way you framed it, yes like in a film! Fantastic and perfect photo!

But hey... What happened? I didn't know you were in an accident! Are you okay now?

das Photo mit dem Night-effect erzeugt Spannung, DOF ist excellent, wirklich gelungene Perspective (wieder mal :))
Hoffe du hast dich schon erholt vom Unfall!

Liebe Grüsse,
Pia :)

Aua!!

oh my goodness, i saw your reference to "an accident" up above and thought you just meant you accidentally took a picture of a street and wanted to recreate the effect deliberately the next time. i had no idea you fell down the stairs! ok, i get it now! haha, i hope you're ok!!! regards: kat~

Uwe Bachmann   {K:10222} 4/22/2004
thank you kat for your great comment on this. the framing is just a kind of....how to say when english is not your mother language...ahm...a try to give an impression of my feelings that i had at that moment, lying there on the ground after fallen down the stairway to my house...my first thought was "this is just a bad movie you are acting in now...a very bad movie"...;-) so i choose this kind of "motion picture"-frame...

ahm...i hope i found the right words now...pooh, not easy for me....scholl time is a long time ago...;-)

thank you all for your words...

Uwe, such a long time since i've checked in on you! This is very effective and it certainly IS down on the street! It looks like you came up out of a manhole to shoot this one. It's very very well done and your post processing really does give it a night time look. DOF and light is perfect..truly excellent image. The only thing that bothers me (a lot) are your borders, top and bottom. To me, they interfere greatly with the movement of my eye through the frame, which in this case takes me around in beautiful concentric circles, through some lovely metal work and textures i want to touch, but alas, there's these bars top and bottom that visually prevent me. You did a classy job on your framing but to me, they distract from this terrific image. best regards: kat~

Yes Uwe, this is what we hope photographers will show us: the world in a suprising perspective, from a different point of view. You did that and made it a beautiful picture. Congratulations, I like it very much. Hope you don't need an accident every time to get inspiration.

I just love your way of seeing objects and the angle you are using and perspective dear Uwe.
Great
