Tanks, Roger, for all your warm and encouraging comments!! As to the 'double-edged bokeh' effect you mentioned, I have to admit that I've never met the term before so I find it hard to answer your question. All I can say is that I didn't have to 'remove' any bars because, to all intents and purposes, the D70 had already magically removed them ~ I guess, by way of the fact that I was using a long zoom, with a large aperture, and had manually focussed on the leopard! I do, however, recognise that something strange seems to be happening in the background areas!! As to the 'photoart' category, I decided to drop it in that section because I felt the end result had a bit of an 'arty' feel about it. Best regards, Chris. P.S. I very much hope you can get your scanner as I soooo enjoy your panoramas!!!

Beautiful photo under the circumstances you describe. Incidentally, this is the first time I've seen the dreaded "double-edged bokeh" that I had heard affected this lens. (I translate a phrase from Japanese and am not sure if this is the "official" English term for it). You can see it in the out-of-focus areas. Looks a bit like camera-shake or mirror bounce, which is obviously ISN'T because of the perfectly sharp image of the leopard. I see you have used the "Photo Art" category for this one. Was this because of removing the cage bars or something like that?

Have just come in from mowing the lawn. It was that bad I stood the chance of meeting one of these guys on the front lawn. This shot is remarkable. The clarity of the subject, exposure spot on. I do wonder what his/her concentration is focussed on and that gives an added interest. Congrats Den

I told you you would be cat converted! Everything is possible in life :-))
Mr S. - fabulous work given all the circumstances and obstacles. It does look as if he was stalking in the jungle! It definitely has a feel of "wild" in it.
Well done.

Chris; a wonderfully natural looking setting/composition that really shows the leopard's magnificent camoflage and sense of stealth. I really like this-- well done-- you really pushed your equipment to its limits. Cheers. Craig

I wish I could hand hold a camera with long lens. Just too shaky any more. This is good. Looks like the cat was moving and you panned for the shot. Makes it look as if it was taken in the jungle. Don.
