July 15, 2004. Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. It stormed this night on and off for roughly 6 hours. Quite a beautiful thing actually. Raw elemental power *yum*. One of a few pictures (300+) taken that night. It was raining when the real nice bolts were popping and I had no rain gear at all for my gear. :( Oh well next time.
Lots of the pictures I took that night lack composition. I simply pointed the camera in the direction where the "action" was. Was hard to frame the horizon in the background past the lights, to get a straight horizon and what not. I am very happy with the pictures from that night. First time shooting lightening with digital too. And yes... I made sure my camera stayed dry. I didnt care about myself.
Again, here a fiercely powerful shot, but again I feel ambiguous about the composition. I'd crop off the left side in this case. The effect of the raindrops on your lens actually add to the image. Or was it you who got wet....:O) (would think twice before taking my cameras out in the rain....)
