I think you're cropping is fine. What's there to worry about?

If I were to play with the crop - I would try bringing the right side in a tad. The right edge as the thumb sticking up I find it a little distracting.

I have the same hesitation with parents and the camera. I know she will love that shot. You have captured a moment in time she will always treasure. It's tender and sweet, no mommy can resist. I love it in b&w (it's poetry)

I agree - love the crop but also love how you have managed to capture the maternal tenderness (that all us mums know so well)!!

I like it. You could have cropped it a dozen different ways, but, you show the womans expression, and still the child is the focal point. Love has nothing to do with physical appearance, its all in the heart and manifested itself in action and expression. I like the B&W version. To bad society have us believing That beauty is about fitting into a certain size dress, and having a certain look. how that child grows up and turns out will not be determined by his mothers looks and thats what is important. enough of my soap box. jimc
