This lady and her husband came walking from miles away. I met her husband on the way and stopped my car to give lift without knowing that he was a rambler/walker. He told me that they preferred walking.
I met them again up at the hill top while taking these images. Very nice couple. They are Vincent and Bride, from near by county. They told me that they come walking from down hill to this spot frequently.
When I looked around the spot - I told myself its all worth the effort. Excellent view point. I think this will be the best view point in Ireland. Great views all arround. Enjoyed my visit to the hights.
I visited this beautiful Achill island last week. Achill is the largest island of numerous small islands off the coast of Ireland, 12/15 miles. Wonderful place for a relaxing holiday. There are few lovely beeches and they are surfers delight, especialy the keel beech.
I was there for two days. Plenty of beautiful seceneries and the ubquetious sheep for company.
Hi Ken, I think the mindset you describe in the about / description fits perfectly with this shot. Great view. The woman adds a very strong element; without her, I think the photo would be rather empty.
The soft lighting and the tones are beautiful. A bit more focus / sharpness would be the finishing touch.....)
Although the first shot (with the couple in it) is as good as the one you posted, I agree with your choice. One person included in the composition somehow makes it stronger than two. Weird, as I see no reason why....
