> It is so serious and intense. It has an unusual DOF but it works really well here.

Yes, the image has a certain intensity for me too. An almost catatonic intensity.
After looking at it for more that three minutes, I really need a good strong cup of tea, I can tell you.
But the seriousness invariably turns into unabated laughter when I think of what these chaps would be saying to me now if I were to show them the photo, and if they were to force me with extended fists to provide a viable explanation of why I was so moved to jump at them with my camera.

Yeah!

Great shot.
I love the expressions on their faces. It is so serious and intense. It has an unusual DOF but it works really well here.

Hey Gunluk!

> i can swear that these man are great actors playing bad guys.

Ha ha!!!
No, they are real everyday people that I happened to cross paths with.

> if not, this is how it feels, and dont say anything bad about the guys, i like them.

I would not want to make any assumptions about what these chaps are really like - people are infinitely multi-faceted, any fool knows... (though, yes, my previous comment may have been interpreted as going in that direction...).
And I have a huge soft spot for anyone I have photographed.

That said, and to be brutally honest (or maybe just brutal...!), I would be surprised if I were to learn that these three friends, for example, were to count foreign-born people among their best friends, or that they would not cheer armies massacring cities of faceless people, as long as the soldiers were British.
And they were really drunk when we encountered each other.
And definitely very grumpy.
And the words they spoke were harsh.

This was about 20 years ago.

Yeah!!

> Picture gives an unsettled, antagonistic feel to the viewer due to facial expressions and (I think) also due to the DOF.

Unsettled and antagonistic is right.
These three chaps were trying to articulate their annoyance at everything, and when I came along at me, but soggy clouds of advanced intoxication had inundated them in sluggishness.

Not much else was going on, except for me thinking how I can turn another sad thing in this pathological culture into something darkly amusing...

Love the expressions, and it's nice to see an image pulled in this much once in a while. Picture gives an unsettled, antagonistic feel to the viewer due to facial expressions and (I think) also due to the DOF. One is definitely left wanting to know more.
