I honestly don't have an answer for that. I just took the picture in color, then looked at it and thought about what I could do to it. She's a very beautiful girl and the photo didn't really need anything, but I had an idea and thought I would try it out. She loved the results--So as long as she's happy, so am I!!! :)

Interesting how you have dropped to colour in the forground and left it in the rear. What was the thinking behind this?

Great photo with a lot of detail. I really like how is it half color and half b&w, it really makes her stand out.

I like the way she's looking at the camera, for the same reasons as Amanda. Perhaps darken her up just a fraction, the top of her arm and forehead are very featureless. But otherwise, a very nice photo indeed!

Very nicely don. Great portrait and the left over color in the background ads a nice touch. I disagree with turning it around. Coloring the girl and leaving the background colorless.. That has been done to death.

Interesting with the half colour and bw, I'd like to see the colour and bw flipped so she is in colour!! Good use of fill flash but the blown out top of her arm is a shame. I love the gentle tilt of her head, the way her hair frames her face and the little bit of flyaway hair too. Lovely creative portrait.
