I agree with Toni's comments. Thumbnails make or break an image on this site, and with usefilm traffic you need something that attracts attention before anyone even looks at the full picture. I don't know if there is an easy solution, since the alternatives (paid memberships, etc) are distasteful as well. I think the second image is flare from the lens (I get this a lot from my zoom lens). Although I occasionally get unique images, I generally don't appreciate something that wasn't in the viewfinder when I snapped the shutter. In this case it adds a unique dimension. Do you think this was overexposed? 15 sec seems like a long exposure for 400ASA film here, and there is no detail to the moon surface. In any case, it worked out to give you an interesting image.
We need better thumbnails! Hate to think how many photos don't get looked at because of the thumbnail. I love this! The moons are great, wherever they come from. But what I like MOST is the trees around the edge. That makes the image. Without them, the photo does not stand up that well. You were very clever to include the trees. The little moon . . . . maybe it is Sputnick!
