Hi Verena, there are a couple of things that make this shot much stronger than the previous one:
1. The contrast makes the chromium almost tangible 2. It's razor sharp, which fits with the material and the design of this pedestal (chandelier?) 3. The angles at which it's tentacles are captured is better balanced, IMO. In the previous one, the camera angle of the middle tentacle is almost parallel, but not quite so; I didn't notice that till I saw this one, though, but with this one, the spread of the tentacles is better balanced.
Very good one; very interesting to see how such small things can change the appeal of an image! Very well done!
