Hi Leo, I took this picture after visiting the Eastman House Photo Museum in Rochester NY. It was only a few blocks away from the museum. I must have been inspired by all the great work inside and wanted to play "Street Photographer" I'm glad I did. As you say, the "meloncholy" stays with us long after we are there. I think they call it "Grass Roots" photography. You have many in your portfolio of that type. Andre

Hello Andre. You have reason my friend, both pictures are very similar, not about the subject, but about the "atmosphere" and the "melancholic"... Really congratulations for this shot (with a special camera...). Leo

Thanks Mike.
I find this site is great for re-sparking intrest in photography. There are so many different kinds of work out there. I also feel like trying everything I see.

I like this one. You've inspired me. I'm in a rut & I'm going to try more on this type of thing.

Hi Erik, Thanks for the comment. This is one of my own favourites, because it brings back memories. I have no idea if the diner is still there. I would bet that it is. Maybe just a different name. I know it survived from 1918 to 1971 anyway. I took this picture on the way home from visiting the Eastman House museum. I was all inspired from all the great stuff that I saw that day. Anyone who is even the slightest bit interested in photography should visit the Eastman House. I think the exhibits are changing all the time, but some remain on display. Upper New York is a great place to photograph. I have been to Watkin's Glen several times in the fall for auto races. Great countryside. Andre

Nice one! It makes me hungry i think. Is this place still there? Rochester is an interesting city. I spent some time there on a job about 14 years ago. I love all of the fading industrial glory in upstate and western New York. cheers, erik
