I do like this, but think the smaller image needs to be larger. The writing overlay is tres cool!

Very good portrait. I think he will love this portrait and it will be one of his best memories of his childhood when he is a little bit older :))

This is fine and very exiting new work! With a few exceptions, outside of standard and classical darkroom manipulation, I?m fairly disconnected from excessive photoshopped images - I don?t really know why that is, could be a generational thing, but I find most ?special effects? efforts ultimately cold banal and immediately forgettable. There are exceptions, however, and this is one. I love the charm and humanness of it. Great to see your artistic imagination expressed with such skill, Samuel.

I absolutely adore it. The child's writing on the image is priceless (your son perhaps). The changes in tonality, color and bw, and the unique framing -- all come together in an very pleasing way. The smaller image in the section on the left is a nice touch as well. This is inspiring -- I want to do some this way now (for my kids). :)

Tiffany, One more thing... :-) I have found Shelby Koning and Ryan Pike's work inspirational - and this work is taken after their styles... I also like the PS work by: James Philip Pegg, Mitchell Miller and Kita Mcintosh - creative and delightful stuff... Enjoy! Sam

Tiffany, Thanks for the comment - much appreciated. Yes, PS is a powerful creative tool for photography. I am just a beginner myself (as there is SO much to learn about PS). I have found the books by Katrin Eismann to be the most helpful. I also use a Wacom drawing pad (which is much easier, more accurate, more expressive, and less tiring then the mouse). I have learn much from the examples of others here on usefilm... They may not share their steps taken, but I am inspired by their work. Good luck with the PS and let me know if I can help... Sam

Oh I really like the things you've been coming up with in PS! I just started learning PS7 so if you've got any good pointers I'd love to hear them :) I love the words scribbled all over and the photo is great! Good job!
