About Lilly taken in artificial light, plain black backdrop. Camera set to macro, white balance to tungsten preset and picture quality to minimum compression. ISO set to 64, tripod used and timer release. I prefer lillies just before they are fully open, they have a great shape.

My thoughts exactly Cary, the shape reminded me of your purple flowers (sorry I cannot recall the titles), I'll give it a go, you never know...no flash was used btw, I just use the lights in the room and a little adjustable lamp to add a little side-lighting. Thanks.

Hi James, this is a great image, real clear and simple, I like the shape anf form too. Your lighting is perfect. I also like the off camera flash to get more edge accent and a more dramatic effect. This one would be a great candidate to work with the method I described, try it and see waht unusual vision yo come up with. Keep on shooting and having fun, CAry

Thanks for your taking the time to write your useful comment. I appreciate it.

No I am not into speleology but I imagine it can be very interesting.

James,

I liked different aspects of your photography:

- You're using "About" field of these pages very well. Information you provide and a final brief comment on your preference give a different vision to us.

- great images, especially macros, with that "mini" olympus.

- generally speaking, colors and composition in your photographs... i think, very attractive and very passionate(?, not sure of this word)

Are you interested in caving or speleology?
