Nancy - Flattered to be added to your friends list. And Tahnks for your great comments - I just love these birds. We often watch them gliding in to land - they are so graceful they will glide 400 Metre distance or more just above the water ( a foot or so which = 0.3M) without flapping their wings - Awesome. This is one of "our" Pelicans from the east coast.

I wish there was more light on the subject, Looks like the darkness was caused by back lighting, Great image, I love the choping off of the bottom, Makes it look like a monster.
