This is a re-work of a photo previously posted, trying to recreate some kind of atmosphere. I darkened everything with levels adjustment, then dodged the farmer and his field. I also cropped more from the original to give the farmer a bit more prominence and to eliminate a certain distracting dirt road.
Have I been successful in improving the image?
In addition, the farmer was really funny, saying 'work work work...if I don't do it, then nothing comes out of the ground for me to eat!'
I have to say that I'm a sucker for your dramatic landscapes. I think you did a wonderful job on the colors and the depth. I do tend to agree that it is a little soft which detracts slightly from the overall aesthetics. Possibly sharpen? Nice job.

The colors are very beautiful and love the mood you created. I feel it's little soft, probably needed some sharpening in the foreground, but regardless the results are beautiful!
