Great environmental portrait, nice warm lighting on left side of man's face & the shallow DOF placed emphasis to main subject. The backround subjects is added interest, my only comment Mujahid is the horizon is slightly tilted down right. Other than that excellent shot, my warm congrats for the award, best wishes.

Wonderful portrait of this man in his remote and beautiful environment, I like how the way he is posed and relaxed looks as familiar as a studio sitting, the face betrays the harshness of the land, the smile shows a man at one with his world. Quite superb. Ian

Wonderful shot. The muted color tones really fit the atmosphere of the shot, the desert. The far background, mountains and clouds, almost looked painted. This is beautiful. Great job. Angela

Congratulations, Mujahid, on selection as Photo of the Day!! I like this image better than Bolan Pass (which I also like), because of the people and animals in the background. It gives the viewer more of a sense of the environment where the man lives. The image itself is pale, but the paleness and the light on the man really make him pop off the image. Well done. -- Naomi

An astonishingly beautiful portrait, Mujahid. It has now been made perfect by the correction of the horizon.
The light in this picture is superb, something really special. You have done a masterful job composing the picture and posing this man. He appears big in the frame, and is looking straight at the viewer, which really connects us with him. Yet we also see the background, his environment, a little snapshot of his land (and what a beautiful land it is!) and his life.
Very deserving of the feature on the front page. Congratulations on an excellent work.

I really liked it. The light, deptf of field and composition is quiete impressive. in my opinion by changing the angle of this photo, the left up the walking stick might fallow a diagonal line through the sheeps on the backgraund. Perfect,Congrats.

Obviously having the photo featured as the Photo of the Day should tell you how wonderful your image is. I looked back to see the original version and without reading any comments my guess is that it was suggested that you have the horizon line going straight across. This image is PERFECT! The composition is much better showing the other person in the background with their animals. The sunlight and the title of the picture are PERFECT. What a wonderful image. My compliments on a job well done - you learn quick from the critiques that you receive. Again, CONGRATULATIONS on Photo of the Day. 7+!

Ops! I commented it but the system didn't take the comment. Anyway, i like it very much, only strange thing is the colour, I'm quite sure taht the original one was less yellow and more red (or at least I suppose). Have you never think it in B&W ? It could be really nice

Very impressive portrait. Probably, you could move point of shooting to the right making composition more vertical. I mean people and animals at background, they could be closer to man at foreground.
