Thanks Paul, I am aware of that. It just seems simpler to give the actual lens focal length w/o the conversion and assume that most people will know there is a difference. It helps keeps most of the non aware folks from asking me how I got 640 mm. with a 400 mm. lens:)and my having to reply.
That could possibly be a good forum topic. What focal length should be listed. The camera reads it w/o the conversion yet most of us know there is an added length. Hmmm. Anyways thatnks for the comment.
Take Care
Jim

Acually, James, your focal length was actually 640mm (you need to factor in the 1.6 to compare with 35mm equivalents when using the 20D).
Oh, and sure thing. You NAILED this one!!

Thanks Petal, I was wondering if someone would notice that. I did:) I think it is probably a sharpening halo. I am still working on perfecting my sharpening technique and because of the color of the background it just seemed to be a little more enhanced. It does not show up on my master version here at home but the compression or something pulled it out on the upload.

Yeah, you can say that again.... WOW... what a catch!! Super DOF, colors, detail and composition.... well done!!! I've got only one little question... there seems to be somekind of a 'halo' around this stunning bird.... is that because of the use of PS or just because of the focus/blurred background??
