The textures sure are beautiful, Patrick. you captured them very well. I like the composition, with the steps origin in the lower corner.

The rich lush tones and the high contrast are used to great effect.

Thank you Karen for your fine comment/thought about this shot. It sure gives some mood.. it was so fun being there and i started taking photos in the beginning and had no idea how the tower would look the higher up i came. So it was kinda like a movie for me.. =) The second shot is up now.. this time im looking down.

Take care my friend!

Very much like a fairy tale. The winding stairs heading up the tower where a princess lays captive to the evil witch. I really like the b&w treatment that gives it the feel of an old monster movie. Really nice tight composition, giving just a hint-enough so that we can tell what it is, but have no idea where it leads to-leaving that part to the imagination. Wonderful piece~

Excellent tones and tonal range...the treatment works well and the textures and the diagonals of the stairs and rails are very striking...good work!

Ive tried that already.. it took away the feeling that the stair actually goes around (as the place is a tower).. also the texture didnt get as beutiful. It looks that it should be cropped on the larger image but as i see the smaller image im certain that i want to keep it like it is now. =) Interesting that you mention this.. i got a similiar post on another site about the crop.. but that person changed her mind after a little while!

Thank you for your input my friend! =)

Patrick J

Ok - you asked me to be critical (hard) and i try! In my point of view i think this image would be EVEN better if you crop a little from the top. But do not crop all the black part.... Try with a paper (to cover the upper part) and you will se what i mean!!!!

Med välmening :)
