hey david. your entitled to your own opinion. thats what makes this so website so cool. i knew what the blur was, but the title of the picture is called chalk, and yet the bottom half of the picture, where the chalk is located is blurred away. i thought perhaps the subject in focus should be the child drawing with the chalk and everything else blurred away. great photo though amber, and awesome portfolio

Hi Anthony. I saw your comment. The bluriness is the shallow DOF of the lens. I actually like that effect very much, but it is very much a personal taste thing.
