I'm afraid I have to disagree with Aernout...in addition to the weight of the books, their haphazard arrangement--and the precariness of their position on the 'thinker'--underlines a feeling of chaos, of impending calamity...a small shift in one direction or the other, and a carefully built tapestry of thought, like a house built on sand falls apart.
A precise alignment of the books would not work. Too manicured...possibly even contrived. From my standpoint, this works, and works well.

Great idea, appealing picture, yet (and I know I'm old fashioned, but I cannot help it) it comes across as just-not-it because of the digitalness or what-do-you-call-it. I think it has to do with the edges of the books, they stand out too much, which gives it a collage-feel. I looked at the website too, looks like we are very much on the same wavelength tastewise. Strong images, clearly bron from an artist's mind! (I fell in love with Norway when I first was there (Telemark) in 1990)
