About The picture was taken during the bush fires in Sydney. The wind was quiet and the smog very dense.

Wonderful shot--and to think we had to go to Africa or Australia for stuff like this...Reminds me of all the times I was without a camera--like the hour I spent on a deserted beach in St. Thomas with the Pelicans diving every other minute. Good Luck!

Thank you, Brigitte and Lisa for your kind remarks. Yes they were pelicans and the atmosphere was awsome at the time. I hate these fires and with more than half a million hectares lost the wildlife suffered a severe blow.

Interesting cityscape. Have you also thought of cropping down to the top edge of water and making it a plain, ole "nature" shot? To me, that would work equally well.

Hope all is well in Sydney!!

Wow Maarten! This is very pretty. I've never liked pollution in the air, but it sure makes for some dramatic lighting at times. This is one of the most beautiful examples I've ever seen. It looks as if you used a gold filter, I just love the color. The placement of the pelicans(?) really completes this image. You have a good eye!
