It is a nice composition. I like seeing the rows of crops at the bottom, but at the same time, it does sort of detract from the misty mood of the piece. Petal's crop did a good job of leaving both the field and the misty mood in at the same time. Brian's right; it is reminiscent of a Chinese wall painting. It also reminds me of some of the shots that Peter Jackson sets up in his films.

What a super photo. My preference would be to cut off most of the dark bottom. I think it would remove a distraction and enhance the dramatic effect.

I like the orginal here Rodney as it gives a wonderment mood about it as to where the sky and the ground meet. By leaving it full frame as I see it the it gives full effect of the fog rolling in effect over the fields. Each to their own opinions and tastes but either way I love this image. I always enjoy foggy photo images. well seen and captured. Fog is hard to photograph as the glare can often cause overexposure but you have done a great job here.
Cheers - Ann :)

Wonderful moody shot!!! Love the soft colors, the trees just popping out of the mist... excellent capture... well done!! My first thought was also: ohhh as a panorama this would look totally awesome.... So I hope you don't mind but I had a go at it... and tryed to leave some of the 'rolling in'... have a look... ;-D!!!

You may be right. I debated whether or not to leave the rows from the fields in the view. I liked the edge of the fog rolling in, so it stayed. However, cropping as you suggested gives a different and appealing feel. I enjoyed your black and whites in your portfolio and share your love for Ansel Adams. Thank you for commenting and sharing. A bit off the bottom and less off the right might perhaps suit this even better as a more panoramic ...
