I really like the stark contrast. That contrast makes me this this almost looks like a studio shot which is of course impossible.

An awesome image. I just returned from Alaska hoping to see such a sight but unfortunately just didn't go to the right places to see such things. Looks like you had great lighting to capture this image. It's wonderful with the black background. Makes it look quite surreal. I had to put this one into my favourites. I love it.
