Avi, your photo hasn't failed. I've always liked a quote from the photography writer Ian Jeffries:
"a photograph can convey meaning even where none is intended"
perhaps it could be called a failure if it simply conveyed the same meaning to every person who viewed it

I see two good images here, the whole and the lower half in square format. I'm in two minds about the shadow, it gives a menacing Hitchcockian feel to the image which does work very well but the lower half of the image is so natural, spontaneous and joyful that I wonder if it deserves the darker upper half. Of course that may be your intention in which case my feelings go round in circles.

Deb sai it (the only word I understood) cool; what i love is her smile and hand, very intimate portrait, love the relaxed atmosphere even with the menacing shadow; a better light on her face had been fine but overall I like it very much
