  Q. A Tripod question

Asked by Bryce Hughes    (K=2957) on 4/29/2007
Hey all,
As the owner of a noblex I'm restricted to having the horizons dead center or less foreground and more sky.
Is there any sort of tripod out there that will allow me to mount my camera in an upside down position so i can do the reverse and have more foreground in my pics and less sky?
If there is such a thing?

~~GRIN~~ Bryce...

For a minute I thought what a strange Question, and what was a Noblex... So I went and had a look and now I understand the problem... The *levels*...

OK... Our old Velbon tripod, we take the central extension shaft up and out, and then place it in upside down... Not sure on other, newer models... but that is one way to counteract the problem... You may also be able to custom build, adapt or buy a side arm... Same idea as an off camera flash...:)))

Hope that's what you were after Sir...:)

Onie...

Bryce...

Also found this when reading about the Noblex... www.luminous-landscapes.com is the site, and there is a review by the gentleman below regarding the camera etc... An American now living in OZ... last part of review below with contact info... May be of some help as he does state *any questions feel free*

*I feel that this is a great camera and that the purchase price is money well spent. Feel free to contact me via e-mail if you there are further questions and visit my website to see more photographs crated using this camera.

Many quality tripods come with a reversible center column. See the Manfrotto 055Pro for example.
Not the cheapest, but you get a lot of tripod for your money. Remember that you can't get a cheap, good tripod...

I use the Manfrotto 180PROB and it does exactly what you're asking. So, how far are you willing to travel to buy one? There's a Manfrotto stockist in Coffs Harbour:

Coffs Harbour Camera House,
Park Beach Plaza,
Coffs Harbour - Ph 02 6652 5766

Hope this helps,
:)
