Q. Tamron Questions

I have been looking to replace a Sigma lens that I have which is the 28-80 with Macro. I have a Canon 20D body. Does any one know any of the following:

Thoughts on Tamron lenses vs. Canon lens
Will the Tamron 18-270 IS lens match up with my sensor
Is there a better lense for the same money approx 630.00.

Tamron are generally poor quality (though they have a few gems, like their 90mm macro).
Sigmas are generally better than similarly priced (or even more expensive) Tamrons.

Do you think that the Canon lens would do fine? I have been looking at the Canon 18-200 lens as well.

Actually bought the Canon 85mm fixed f/1.8. Sweet Lens
