  Q. Kodachrome 64

Asked by Nasos Efstathiadis    (K=611) on 5/17/2004
Hi there, I have a question regarding the above mentioned slide film

In some countries it's called PKR 64 and in some others KR 64. In both cases a proccess mailer is included in the price. The KR 64 comes in a red-yellow box while the PKR in the classic yellow Kodak box. Do you know if there are any product differences or are we just talking about different names of the SAME product? Is it something like the EOS 300D-Digital Rebel-Digital Kiss story?

BTW, similar differences apply to the ISO 200 slide film called either PKL or KL 200

I am sure that it's only the packaging that's different. But when you get the slides back from whoever processed the roll, look at the printing near the sprocket holes, and you'll know whether it's Kodachrome or not.

It's fairly common. Like with some 400 speed Ilford b&w film, they've been sold as Arista 400. Ilford has even manufactured film without their name on it.
