  Q. Eyeglass glare

Asked by bree babs    (K=195) on 7/25/2004
A friend of mine asked me help her fix a pix she had taken with her son. I have no clue how to fix it. She is wearing glasses and there is a glare just under each of her eyes. Is there something I can do to remove it? I have PSE2 and Photoshop. I'm not as familiar with the latter. Please help!!!!

I'm not very proficient with this high-end manipulation but, I would think you could use the blur tool to minimize the appearance of the glare.

I'm sure there are other ways, but this is the first (and simplest) that comes to my mind.

Okay, thanks for the suggestion. Here's what I ended up with. I used a combination of blur and smudge. I also used the dodge tool to whiten the eyes a bit. Does it look better?

Let me try that one again.

Corrected image. Because this is fairly low res I worked on the glare pixel by pixel by bringing in individual darker pixels to replace the very light and white ones.

Also made some more general corrections and lightened the man's face by making an oval selection and dodging it a bit selectively from the rest of the photo.

Better?

Yes, that looks better. Please tell me how you selected individual pixels. I'm not sure I understand how you did that. It looks much better! Tx!
