  Q. Cross-processing C-41 B&W films

Asked by Balazs Fogoly    (K=-62) on 4/23/2004
Has anyone tried cross-processing C-41 B&W films in E-6 chemicals? What is the result?

I'm not sure just what you'd get, but it'd be cool to see. Cerntainly worth the cost a roll of cheap c-41 B&W film, and a run through the E-6 chemistry. I'd speculate it might be something like a contrasty, sepia kind of tone monochrome image, but it's really imposible to say without trying it. Hmmm, that does sound interesting enough, I might give it a try over this break if I get a chance. The standard response, by the way, to questions about cross processing is ussually "try it and see". )

I don't know about doing c-41 B&W films in E-6 but I routinely develop C-41 B&W films in Diafine.
