Q. Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 with 1.4x teleconverter or Nikkor 300mm f/4

Hello, I recently purchased a Nikkor 80-200mm. I was wondering if any one knows if there is a noticeable difference in image quality between the 80-200 with a 1.4 teleconverter and the 300mm f/4 lens.
