Q. Ring Flash for Sony F717

I am sorry for my poor English. I have a ring Flash Vivitar 5000 that always I used in my Nikon F3. Today I would to use in my F717. But !!! The PC conector cord of the flash do not conect in ACC conector of the Sony. The conector of the camera is not universal. How I solve this situation?
