  Photography Forum: Nature Photography Forum:
  Q. Critiques Wanted

Asked by Jeffery Parker    (K=172) on 9/8/2006
I've recently gotten back into photography, and would like some feedback on my work. I've been taking nature photography mostly, but am trying to broaden my horizons. Would like some input from Pros and Amateurs alike, just don't be brutal, my fragile ego won't handle it.

Jeff:)

Jeffery:
Spend some time and browse around the site. You'll learn a lot. Oh, and PS . . . While you may not feel qualified to critique other people's work . . . you should be aware that the time your images are on the front page of recent pictures is very short. You will get little or no comments if you're just counting on the time the thumbnail is on the front page. I have seen very good pictures come and go with little or no comment. If, on the other hand, you mention to others that you "like this" or "don't understand or like this" on THEIR pictures -- or if you ask questions . . . your name comes up to them AND to every single person who sees their pictures. Many people make it a point to comment on photos for ANYONE who comments to them. By reading these other comments, making comments, and getting comments . . . UF will work wonders for you. But you need to make and receive comments. Your critiques to others will improve as you do. Go out there . . . make comments or ask questions under 10 people's pictures and your comment count will double. Seriously.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Hi Jeffrey,

Doyle is right: the best way to get critiques is to leave critiques on other photos. Have fun looking at the photos of others, and they will in turn look at yours. Welcome to Usefilm!

Cheers,

Hugo

Jeff,

What this shot tells me is that you have a lot of patience. In nature photography, in any photography, but especially nature, patience is your key element, and it will always show in the quality of your work. Keep up the great work.

hi, the way it works best here, and at most photo sites is to visit other member's work leaving a critique which will in turn lead them to your work....welcome to UF.....regards,gayle
