About ciao work...hello sunset; taken a few hours ago...freezing cold (-4°C); the sky was incredible red; very unsatisfied with the colour on the photo, so turned it into B&W and cropped out a bit of the sky and finally added some contrast/softeness

Hi sweetie, as I am semi-retired I get a lot more time to comment on my friends work than most of them can on me. You comment when and where you like my dear Mireille and as often as you are able; you do not have to match comment for comment as far as I am concerned.
You will never get a technical critique from me, I will merely tell you what I like about your compositions and will never point out any flaws...When we take shots they are as we see them and honestly presented for all to see. Now and again a friend will post an image that doesn't appeal to me, in a technical sense it could be the shot of the week but if it does nothing for me, I will pass it by.
I love most of your subject matter and I love your creative mind in composing, so I will always be able to find something nice to say.
You absolutely must have that tripod in March sweetie as there are so many instances where you will benefit from it.
My very best wishes to you Mireille, take care of you and 'see' you soon.....Ray

Hi Ray,
First I would like to thank you for the nice comments you always post on my images. Unfortunately I don't always have time to comment yours as thoroughly as you do with mine. Please forgive me for that.
As to the picture, it would have been much better by using a tripod (which I'll only get in March) and my Nikon lens, of course.
I had to add some softning as the sky turned out a bit grainy.
Thanks again for all your nice comments!
Best regards, Mireille

Hi Mireille looks OK in mono tones and I love the diagonal you've found in those ugly overhead cables. Sometimes it pays to go for a mono conversion, I must improve my own poor technique. Best wishes to you sweetie......Ray

The tones and almost absence of detail on the horizon do create a sense of coldness and despair. Great work Mireille.

Wonderful mood. I totally agree with the black and white conversion.

The black and white format creates a nice mood here. I like the contrasts that it creates.
