I like this quite a bit. It may look unreal but that can't take away from the beauty of it. About the only place you may want to work on is the mast area of the boat cause the lighting there has a cooler tone than the rest. Great work!

This is a fantastic shot. Quite a change in your portfolio. For a first attempt at manipulating the image, it truly worked out marvelously. My only comments would be those which have already been posted - fact that the boat and the fisher are illuminated from the front by really soft light (i.e. from the sun) which now is behind them. But I like the effect that this creates. Who knows - maybe you had huge light sources mounted on a planform just in front of the boat. Anything is possible, right?

Amazing artwork, amazing lighting that support all the boat from the frond and gives a nice soft view on the textures.....wow about the way the waves viewed!!! And the sky....superb choise, you makes a stunning collage my friend, congratulations, the result looks so unique, and you makes the object in sunlighting looks so nicely into the darkness of the night sky! AMAZING! Excellent...and hope for something more from the site...an award could be on that! BRAVO!

I like your results, Ahmed. I know that you could be criticized for having the sun behind him yet he is lit from the front/side.
It is like the conspiracy theorists say about the pictures taken on the moon, you can't have two light sources so the pictures taken on the moon must be fake. But they don't take into account the possibility of a light reflection off a shiny object like the Lunar lander.
So who is to say your boat is not lit from some highly reflective shore building?
In order to get away from any potential criticism in the future, you might just consider using a non-sunset sky. I have a whole stock pile of "skies" that I can choose from when I need them, including "puffy clouds", "storms", "pure blue", etc. If I change a sky, I try and pick the one that will fit the light of the subject as best as possible.
Good job and dramatic!
Dave

Very dramatic work. I read the About section, you did a great job of replacing the sky,I cannot see any "joins". My only concern is that the sun is behind the man, yet he is lit from the front. What software did you use? CC

Great Atmosphere here! So It is your first attempt ..still I think you get a good result. Despite all you can improve side lighting (around the boat) to abtain more details to read the shot and placed the whole in a spatial point of reference. Well done Paolo

Superb in its appearence, Ahmed! The conbtrast from the highlights and the peace of the boat with the man on it, to the darker any electrifying sky, makes the protagonists look as if they would almost be jumping out of the image, coming thus from a day of work out there in the depth towards a more familiar and easy environment. The old man and the sea - this is what I think of when I see it.
Is it only my impression that the boat and the man are a bit softer depicted than a perfectly sharp focus might imply?

Your creation is very dramatic and eye catching. The details of the boat stand out well against the dark background. I do like the way the mast of the boat joins the two sections of the image together. The lighting on the boat would suggest that there is a ligh source in front of it as the light from the sunset would not light it as it is. However, there could be a light on the shore shining towards the boat. Your use of the sepia tone was a good choice. There is defiately something very appealing about this. You did a great job adding the sky. I really like the dream type feeling this has. MAry MAry
