Thanks a lot, Jacques! I had my reservations aboit its composition and then Andre suggested another way which seems adequate to me.
Cheers!

Thanks a lot, Andre!
I think I should try some similar shots then, when I am in Zurich again. It seems that classical things never fail. ;-)
Cheers!

Hi Nick, Yes, I think what the image in the attachment does better is lead the viewer's eye down the perspective of the road. I agree, it is definitely a safer more classic view. But, I think it works. Andre

Thanks a lot, Dave!
You mean I could turn the camera more to the left for getting more of it?
Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the nice comment and the idea, Andre!
You must be thinking of something like the attachment, I guess. Indeed, more "classical" and "symmetrical". On the original I have the impression that something could be done in order to emphasize more the perspective from the side, but it could also be that the concept is not right for that.
That vertical detail is the cable tube for the light further down. I hated that right from the start too! (Along with the municipal authorities that just *have* to hang lamps and lights exactly where you don't want to have them.) ;-) Perhaps I could get another one from some other point so that the tube can be excluded but I have not as many hopes about that. This is a part of the railway station in Zürich and there is a nice small bar in the third floor from where I took the image. There are only some few windows with a view of those arches and they all offer more or less this view. Let me see what I can do.
Cheers and thanks again!

I think you could have cropped a little closer on the left, Nick, but I like the idea of your framing and the exposure is good. Dave.

Hi Nick, I don't think there is anything wrong with the composition the way it is. You could eliminate the arch on the left side of the picture, for a different look. But not necessarily any better. There is that vertical detail over to the right of the main arch that kind of distracts a bit. But again, no big deal. Andre
