Many Hindus worship Lord Ganesha, the GOD of WISDOM. Typically in month of BHAADRAPAD of Hindu PANCHANG (calendar),it is a ritual to bring home idol of Lord Ganesha for worship for a period ranging to 1.5 days to 10 days generally in the August/September month of English Calendar. Human Beings are celebrative, even in the worship of GOD all around the Globe. After the period of worship the idol is immersed in sea or river or lake, which is known as VISARJAN. (Visarjan in Sanskrit means to leave something for ever or for a period). The lord Ganesha idols are brought with celebrative procession & also the VISARJAN is made in a celebrative procession.
