Mark this is a darling capture! I agree, a little sharper would be ideal, but you couldn't pass up the moment! Love those expressions . . . and it looks like the same marker that visited the child's face had a go at the kittens!! Too funny! I might up the contrast too. That might bring out some of the colors. Another thing you could do is use a watercolor effect, or something to give it a painting look. Those expressions will come through great with some art filter on it! I really love it!

It was a grab shot, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to catch the little girl's expression or that of the cat I had to hurry up and press the button. I'll try to make the tones brighter, possibly by rescanning the slide and a bit of postprocessing in Photoshop. Thanks again.
Well it's cute, in that the girl is adorable and I love the way she's holding onto the squirming kitten. But I think it could be sharper, and the tones a little brighter.
