About This photo brings together various dimensions that I like. Architecture, color, light, perspective and a feeling of 3D especially when looking outside the windows and into the city streets. Nothing fancy but for some reason I like the results.

Realy nice scene and well-done picture. in my eye, softness of colours and lights on the floor is in opposite of sharpness of vertical and horizental lines (of columns, stairs and other parts of construction)and this is the thing which make it lovely and magic. specially I like to look at the colours in the bottom of the picture those seems want to cross the frame and glow on the viewr!

Be nice and happy!

Thanks for you comment.... I am glad that you enjoy the photo. I like your idea of placing it at an end of a long hallway...

Gabriel Fuentes Gabriel Fuentes   {K:6565} 3/18/2006
Your use of chromatic light, both in the filter-like panes and as spilled light rendered on the floor, dramatically marks the slightly off-center VP (vanishing point) which locates the light source, making a complex presentation of forms appear geometrically simple. Masterful Señor Paul! I’d place this image at the end of a long hall I need people to walk through, sure that they will be alluringly attracted to it.

Of course, this a very impressive architectural endering! I can see why you would have been impressed with this scene. The colours are pastel but well saturated and the overall tonal quality is pleasant counterpoint. Dimensionality is enhanced by the large detailed foreground, the receeding stairways and metalwork and views through the glass.

Everytime I get a comment from you, Paul, I chase over to your portfolio hoping you will have posted another photo. I do so love your work... This was posted a month ago and it is great. But I feel deprived! Have you ever experimented with taking stereo photos? Like you, I love that sense of depth and perspective, and logically that's where one should end up. I've tried it with mixed results...

Pretty cool shot, Paul! It seems like that structure would be rather cold and utilitarian were it not for the playful colored light cast by the windows. Nice architectural lines - kind of 'German' feeling to me!

I've never seen "stained glass" used in such a modernistic piece of architecture / art ... and you did a beautiful job capturing it.
A very neat aspect of the image is the portion of the floor that is not bathed in the bright colored light, but which is in the background / far corner of the building, and is devoid of color yet the pattern of the floor stands out so vividly.
Excellent.

Nice colours, Paul.

I saved a copy of your forum thread "Usefilm Photographers Who Left", as I could easily predict it would be removed.

Perhaps that kind of action explains why some chose to stop contributing, or leave. It's happened very often, and it will continue to happen.

Regards,
Angelo.
