Lots of good suggestions here... I wasn't too happy with it either... but I uploaded hoping for critiques like yours. I really appreciate you taking time to give these suggestions.

Tushit, the problem I have with this picture is that the tone is so flat and the knockers so simple that there's not much of interest here. You might try photographing it at a much lower angle and in a different light. The light, of course, would provide some shadows and give the picture depth, while the low angle will make the composition less flat. Another thing might be to capture more of the door, giving more context.
