Very well balanced exposure and also composition, except for some minor problems on the foreground, Dave! Especially that glow over the trees at the depth and the details of the snow/wood patterns on the branches make its strength much much bigger, allowing the spectator to really see the time of the day, and thus also the very low temperature.

All those frost trees are so beautiful. Such a gorgeous scene which is quite alien to me. I don't think I've ever seen quite such a frozen and pretty scene as this one. All that white stuff. Beautiful! Simply stunning. The lighting and shadows are wonderful here Dave. Well done.

Cheers - Ann :)

I am enjoying your frost shots. The composition of this one is especially good. I like how the curve in the river gives balance even though only shooting one side. Del.

Very nice shot Dave, b&w is a very good choice. Better contrasts. By the way I lived in Winnipeg during a full year in 1974, I had been transferred for work from Montreal. I was living in East Kildonan, on Thames St.
Best regards

Just stunning Dave...I love your PS treatment but I am sure the shot would have stood on it's own, it is that good. I love the ice or frost encrusted branches and envy you these kind of Winters (but NOT the low temperatures) It does look so good in these mono tones. Well done my friend, take care in the snow. Best wishes 'see' you soon....Ray

Ahh... Dave what can I say about this photo. Any suggestions? I'm sure with a team effert we can be on the front page every day. Ha Ha!!!

Nice black and white conversion. I like the shadows playing of the feild in front of the trees. Great frozen look and patterns on the trees also.

Did I spell every thing right this time? How embarassing. I had rented fingers that day.
Here it goes. Front page comment again?

Well done Dave! I like the perspective of the tree line as the bank curves. The light passing through the treetops produces a glow in the ice.
