Kevin - it does give a certain level of satisfaction when a photograph inspires another person. Thank you for the comment and I do think that you are right, the 'frame' does not work. Also thanks for taking the time to peruse the portfolio. Did the same with yours and to some extend your photos depict your inner turmoil.
Great ligthing and tones Tjaart - have to agree with Kevin, the blurred branches distract rather than contribute to this wonderful scene. That said, it remains a striking image, pleasing to look at. Great work. Joggie
Saw the name. must be from SA. Right!Looked at your portfolio. Love your work. Different style to mine, but for what you do you have the eye to see. Strong use of colour and composition have made me instantly homesick....sentiment for what I miss, came afterwards. As this is a critique forum, sentiment is not beneficial to anyone and the blurred foreground for me is a distraction with no virtue to this image, which is a magic lighting moment and a beautiful place. Respect to you and your eye, and thanks for a very sincere and integrous reminder for what I need to return to...From a Kaapie, in the process of being inspired by bad weather and strange people. Keep seeing.
