Thank-you for your kind words. FYI I made it back home 1 April 2005 - I was only there for 15 months. This was my fourth tour over to the Middle-East. The first - being Desert Shield/Storm. On a different note "Welcome Home" and "Thank-you" for your service. I know it was a tougher time to serve during the Vietnam. I come from a military family - so I remember those day very well. Again Thank-you for your kind words.

Great stuff there dude.how well i remember my days in Nam..there were guys like you around all the time..i could never understand how they could grab a camera instead of a rifle..but they were always right in the thick of it with us...and more than a few didnt make it home..Watch yer ass son..and keep the wind at your back

Thanks for your comments. Also there was no one in the room waiting for us. However their where a few snipers on the roof tops firing at us at the time.
FYI, almost all the good people had left Fallujah before the fighting had began. The only ones that had remain where mainly insurgeants, not Iraqis; and yes, you are right, war is a very ugly thing.
On a different note I took the time to look at your photos, you have a really good eye. I like a lot of your shots.

I like your image which is very informative for me.
It seems to the first person near to the door is a woman with a cute nose. I hope the 3rd soldier didn't kill anybody because if he went from light and clear day to indoor with that big sun glasses could see nothing except movements. And God know what would be thecause of those small movements. It might done with a little frightened child, a cute frightened cat, or an old frightened lady or young frightened boy!
I suggest to tell to your fellow colleagues stop killing and start packing and go home when their beloved wife and children were waiting for them for few years B4 you face with another Vietnam war! in the region.

What shall I say! Thanks for sharing and provide a view what goes on there! That demonstrates obviously 2 diverse lives even though we are living on the similar earth! I would attempt to note down a commentary, but what shall I say?! The picture tells us the whole thing in deed!

Thanks for the comment, I just wish that the photo could have been a little sharper, but we where under fire at the time. I was just looking at some of your photos, it seems that you do a lot of nature scenic stuff. I hope to do more of that my self one day.

A strong journalistic shot, Johancharles! You give us a real expectation and apprehension about what awaits the soldiers, and their readiness. The pink door adds a somewhat bizarre twist to the scene, too.
